Why ECHO Lab?

  1. Work across disciplines and sectors.

Explore questions at the intersection of public health, behavioural science and communication. Gain experience in academic and applied research settings, working with colleagues at Simon Fraser University and the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute’s Legacy for Airway Health team.

  2. Connect evidence with everyday decisions.

Study how people understand health risks, and how communication can support informed decisions and protective action.

  3. Explore environmental health in practice.

Our projects aim to enhance and evaluate communications of various environmental and health risks, including wildfire smoke and other climate change hazards, radon, and tobacco.

Equity, diversity
& inclusion.

ECHO Lab values a welcoming, respectful and accessible research environment where people with different identities, backgrounds and lived experiences can contribute and belong.

We aim to recognise and reduce barriers to participation, listen to different perspectives and keep learning how to make our research and working environment more inclusive. We welcome enquiries from people whose experiences and perspectives are underrepresented in research.
